REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – Website Design and Implementation

Columbia Basin – Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance (CKCA) is seeking a qualified contractor to redesign the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance website: www.basinculture.com

CKCA is a committee of the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council (WKRAC). CKCA delivers the arts, culture and heritage funding program on behalf of Columbia Basin Trust (CBT). This program includes a number of funding streams, including funding to individuals or groups through community arts councils and funding for minor capital projects, major capital for heritage projects, touring, mentoring, exhibits and major arts and heritage projects.

Based in Nelson, BC, the CKCA has a staff of two and a Steering Committee of 14 volunteers from around the Columbia Basin, elected for two year terms. Most of our applicants do not live in Nelson, so we rely heavily on our website to distribute information and application forms for the funding programs. The site also provides information and resources for and about Basin artists, art and heritage organizations. Currently our website is outdated and difficult to update.

Website Goals

· Improved usability and ease of navigation by users
· Improved ease of modification and maintenance by CKCA staff
· The continued ability to have applicants view, download and print PDF documents
· The continued ability to easily link to useful documents or sites
· News and gallery page(s) which are easy to update/navigate

To ensure future scalability and portability, we request that the website is developed using an open source CMS, preferably in WordPress.org.
